Business Awareness and Professional Conduct
This topic is to be taught to every I.T.E.C. student no matter which complementary therapy they are learning. Classes will run over 2 Saturday mornings and a mock exam will be held on a 3rd Saturday (see dates) Students will study the following:
- Setting up and running a business i.e. Where will you work, account keeping, legalities etc.
- Professionalism: Personal and service provided
- Improving practitioner techniques – being reflective and ethical
- Working with other therapists and the medical profession
- Communication with clients
- Health and Safety
- Data Protection
- First Aid
- Infection and Hygiene
- Sterilization and waste disposal
Exam
A 1 hour multiple choice question paper comprising of 50 questions.
